Ann Hanna, MBA, CPA

Managing Director & Founder

As one of the founders of Taureau Group, Ann was instrumental in guiding the firm’s intentional evolution. From its roots in a regional CPA firm, she reinvented the M&A practice and created a true boutique investment banking practice. The Taureau Group of today is the expression of her unique experience and skill sets, as well as her forward-thinking vision of how a fully independent investment banking firm should operate.

Ann received her BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Colorado and an MBA in Finance and Corporate Taxation from California State University. Ann is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Wisconsin, a Licensed Registered Representative (Series 63, 79, and 82), a Certified Mergers and Acquisitions advisor (AM&AA), and a licensed Wisconsin Real Estate Broker. Her operational experience spans ownership of multiple businesses and corporate roles at General Motors and Shell Oil.

Ann serves as an Independent Board Member of Penrod Inc., which engages in technology and digital transformation consulting in the healthcare and life sciences space.  She also serves on the Board for Appion Solutions, a premier, cloud-based apprentice program management software provider.

Historically, Ann has served as President and Board Member for the Association for Corporate Growth, Board Chair, and member for A-B (Rockwell) Credit Union, plus memberships in the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Exit Planning Institute of Wisconsin (founding member). She is a former advisor for the Wisconsin Early Stage Fund, helping secure seed funding for entrepreneurs, and a former founding member of Wisconsin Women Entrepreneurs of Greater Milwaukee.

Ann’s commitment to social responsibility and community development extends beyond her role at Taureau Group. She is deeply dedicated to fostering economic opportunity in Milwaukee’s underserved neighborhoods and empowering women through entrepreneurship. This commitment is evident in her leadership as the Board Chair of BizStarts Milwaukee, where she also serves as a Bootcamp instructor and venture track advisor. Ann has shared her insights as a speaker and panelist at the Alverno College MBA program and contributed to the Finance Committee at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School.

In 2023, Ann was recognized as a Notable Nonprofit Board Leader by BizTimes Milwaukee. In 2022, she was named one of the Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A, and In 2011, she received the Enterprising Women of the Year Award from Enterprising Women Magazine.  She brings a wealth of knowledge paired with a vision for the success of Taureau Group and all who work with them.
