The Analyst is an integral part of the M&A team providing support for investment banking engagements and transactions. This position will work closely with senior team members on projects including business sales and divestitures, acquisitions, and recapitalization.  Providing hands-on and real-world experience, the position will allow for career growth and professional development across business, financial analysis, communications, marketing, and sales skillsets. The Analyst will be given increasing responsibility over time and high performers can expect career advancement opportunities

Principal Accountabilities

The duties identified below are the essential responsibilities of the position:

  • Provide support for the day-to-day management and execution of M&A transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of company valuations, financial models, company marketing materials and client presentations
  • Perform company and industry research
  • Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financial information
  • Build relationships and maintain up to date contact and guidance with clients and professional advisors
  • Engage in ongoing personal development in line with firm’s growth and development strategy

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business; MBA preferred; FINRA licensing is a plus

Experience Required

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in investment banking, accounting, finance or similar role

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Motivated, self-starter looking for long-term growth within a successful, industry-focused investment banking firm
  • Strong financial analysis skills and knowledge of accounting 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and research platforms (e.g., CapIQ) is a plus
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Willingness to take on additional work outside the scope of the job description
