The Associate is an integral part of the M&A team working alongside senior team members on projects related to investment banking services, including business sales and divestitures, acquisitions, and recapitalization.  This position will support investment banking engagements and new business development opportunities.

Principal Accountabilities

The duties identified below are the essential responsibilities of the position:

  • Coordinate and execute M&A transactions
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing materials, and other presentations
  • Perform company and industry research
  • Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financial information
  • Value companies and businesses through multiple methodologies
  • Assist deal strategic planning and marketing
  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors
  • Engage in ongoing personal development in line with the firm’s growth and development strategy

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business; MBA preferred; FINRA licensing is a plus

Experience Required

  • 2+ year(s) of experience in investment banking or Corporate M&A

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Motivated, self-starter looking to grow into leadership within a successful, industry-focused investment banking firm
  • Strong financial analysis skills and knowledge of accounting
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
